This change was made so as to have the song's role/intent not be titularly confused with the *primary* definition of "decadence": the decline of morals, society, and people.

That's... *way* too fucking extreme and the polar opposite of what was ever intended. It was used here to simply describe a period of decline -- y'know, winding down after the big fight's over; the tension's declining because, ironically, the world's at peace again.
